Canadian Antibiotic Treatment Guidance

The Canadian Antibiotic Treatment Guidance, a new resource for prescribers supported by the Public Health Agency of Canada, is now available on the Firstline® platform. This guidance was developed by the Association of Medical Microbiology and Infectious Disease (AMMI) Canada, using a rigorous, evidence-based methodology. These recommendations promote judicious antibiotic use for the management of common infections in primary care.

This initial release focuses on respiratory tract infections. By downloading the guidance now, clinicians can begin adopting best practices to support more effective care for our patients and communities. Additional treatment guidance for other syndromes will be added over time, building on this foundation to promote consistent, evidence-based antibiotic prescribing across Canada.
